Course Outcome Assessment (Direct Method)

Theory Courses (100 Marks)

 Internal Assessment consists of 2 Descriptive (10 Marks), 2 Objective (10 marks) and 2 Assignments
(05 Marks).
o All questions used to evaluate the students, questions are framed considering the COs and
Taxonomy Level.
o Base marks is considered as 60% of the maximum mark for descriptive, assignment and
university and 40% for objective .
o Number of students securing marks ≥ the base marks is computed.
o Percentage of students securing marks ≥ the Base marks is computed.
o Level is assigned based on the above computed percentage
 Level 1: When < 60% students attains COs
 Level 2: when 60-80% students attains COs
 Level 3: When >80% students attains COs
 University assessment - Exam marks are not announced question-wise, hence CO-Level
computed from external exam marks is assigned to all Course Outcomes.
 Overall Theory CO-Level = 75% University + 25% Internal assessment

 2 Subjective examinations of 4 questions (10 marks each)

 2 Objective examinations of 20 questions (10 marks each)
o Typically C416.1, C416.2, C416.3 in the 1st Examination
o Typically C416.4, C416.5, C416.6 in the 2nd Examination
 2 Assignments covering all course outcomes (Overall 5 Marks)
