DOP tests are conducted every 24 months to check the integrity and efficiency of HEPA filters by releasing an aerosol upstream of the filters and measuring any leakage downstream. The test involves a visual inspection of the filters, preparing the aerosol generator equipment, releasing a dense cloud of aerosol into the air flow, taking a baseline sample, and then scanning the filters with a photometer to ensure less than 0.01% or 0.03% leakage and confirm all filter components are functioning properly according to industry standards.

WHY IT IS DONE? DOP tests are done to check the integrity & efficiency of HEPA filters. The DOP test is relatively quick & repeatable. It confirms that all components of the HEPA filters are working correctly. HEPA filters need to be checked regularly to ensure they are performing to industry standards. According to ISO the DOP test should be done every 24 months. INSTRUMENTS HOW IT IS DONE? First, there is a visual inspection of the filters for cracks, holes or any other damage issues. Then the equipment is turned on & is being prepared for the test. The equipment comprises of an aerosol generator. The next step involves releasing a dense cloud of aerosol into the upstream air flow of the HEPA filters. A sample of the air & aerosol mixture is taken to set the baseline. Then the filters can be scanned using a photometer to assess whether there is any leakage. The maximum permissible leak is 0.01% or 0.03%. THANK YOU
