PASSIVE VOICE: PRESENT AND

PAST
Passive voice is used when the focus is on the action. It is not important or not known, however, who or what is performing
the action.
Passive voice: Present

Subject + to be(am-is-are) + Past Participle (3rd column of irregular verbs)


Example:

1.-My friend writes a letter.

A letter is written by my friend.

2.-We do not clean our rooms

3.- This computer / make / in the USA.

4.-The money / change into dollars / at the bank.


Passive voice: Past

Subject + to be (was/were) + Past Participle (3rd column of irregular verbs)

Example:

The dog ate our turkey.


Example:

1-- Rita wrote a letter.

A letter was written by Rita.

2.-Those doors _________________ (paint) yesterday.

3.- Alex learned the poem.

4.- My car / damage / last night.
