Rallies, Seminars Held Across Karachi To Mark Kashmir
Day.

Kashmir Solidarity Day was observed across the country with
zeal on Friday as a number of political parties along with
religious and civil groups organized programs and rallies.
Assemblies also passed resolutions expressing solidarity with
Kashmiris, demanding that a referendum be held to settle the
68 year-long dispute.
In Islamabad, a large rally was organized by a religious
group.

He accused the incumbent Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leadership
of being more interested in strengthening economic ties with India,
hence there was no possibility of resolving the Kashmir dispute
during their term in office. Several individuals carrying the banners of
Azadi-e-Kashmir Rabita Council staged a demonstration outside the
Lahore Press Club with speeches in support of the Kashmiri freedom
struggle.
JI’s Baluchistan chapter also took out a rally in Quetta led by its
provincial Ameer Maulana Abdul Kabeer Shakir which passed
through various streets of the city before culminating in a protest at
Mana Chowk. He said that Pakistan was incomplete without Kashmir.

The nation observed Kashmir Solidarity Day on Sunday with a
pledge to seek a solution to Kashmir dispute according to UN
resolutions and aspirations of Kashmiri people.
Mass rallies, symposia, peace walks conventions and meetings are
being held across the country to draw world attention towards the
plight of the oppressed Kashmiri people.
Jamaat-e-Islami and other parties took out rallies in Muzaffarabad,
Islamabad, Multan Hyderabad, Karachi, Lahore and other cities.
In Lahore, Pakistan Muslim League (N) took out its main rally to
show solidarity with Kashmiri people, from Alhamra Art Center to
Faisal Chowk on the Mall today.

Jamaat-e-Islami Emir Siraj-ul-Haq addressed a large rally in Lahore, condemning
India and paying tribute to the martyrs of Kashmir. Railways Minister Khawaja
Saad Rafique led the rally, which was also participated by the party leaders and
workers in large numbers.
A rally ”Yakjehti Kasmir Karwan” was taken out from Zarghoon Road towards the
Quetta Press Club.
In Mirpur, Azad Kashmir rallies were taken out and seminars and Kashmir
Solidarity Conference are being held to express complete unity and solidarity with
the people of Jammu & Kashmir in their just struggle for right to self determination.
Nation-wide one minute silence was observed at 10.00 a.m. to honour Kashmiri
martyrs
In Azad Kashmir, human chains was formed at Kohala and other points linking
Pakistan and Azad Kashmir.

Kashmir Solidarity Day will be observed today (Thursday) across Pakistan and Azad Jammu and
Kashmir with full zeal and fervour to express solidarity with the people of Indian-held Kashmir and
pay tribute to the sacrifices of Kashmiri shuhada
A large number of people, organisations and parties will observe Kashmir Day, which is a gazetted
holiday throughout Pakistan. The Ministry of Kashmir Affairs and Northern Areas has devised a
comprehensive programme for the occasion.
One minutes silence will be observed at 10am today. A request in this connection was made to the
general public to participate in the one-minute silence to be held in honour of the Kashmiri shuhada.
In Peshawar, a rally will be held under the arrangement (supervision) of district government. The
rally will start from Milad Chowk at 10am and culminate at Chowk Yadgar. Prominent local
Kashmiri leaders, social and political figures will address the rally. Similar rallies will also be held in
other district headquarters in the Frontier province to express solidarity with Kashmiri Muslims. A
two-day photographic exhibition, aimed at depicting the sacrifices of Kashmiri Muslims, was
inaugurated at Peshawar Museum Hall on Wednesday. People from different walks of life were also
present during the exhibition and took keen interest in the photographic exhibition. The exhibition
will continue today.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Friday called for resolving the lingering issue of Kashmir in
accordance with the resolutions of UN Security Council, saying the credibility of the global
organization will be at stake if it fails to implement its own decisions.

Nawaz Sharif spoke to lawmakers in Muzaffarabad, the capital of Pakistan's part of Kashmir, as the
countrymen observed “Kashmir Day.” Pakistan observes the day by holding rallies and arranging
seminars on the issue of Kashmir.

Hussain Ahmed, the then chairman of Jamaat-i-Islami, had given the call for observing solidarity with
Kashmiris for the first time on Feb 5.

Conference Abdul Majeed Malik lauded the moral and diplomatic support extended by Pakistan at all international forums.
In his keynote address, he said the oppressed people of Kashmir would one day succeed in their struggle.

Speaking on the occasion, Sindh Culture Minister Sardar Ali Shah said Pakistan had always highlighted the issue of Kashmir and
stressed that India should acknowledge the right of self-determination and fulfil the promises it had made in the United Nations.
Karachi Mayor Wasim Akhtar said the father of the nation, Quaid-i-Azam Moh­ammad Ali Jinnah, had termed Kashmir the jugular
vein of Pakistan.
He said Pakistan was following the policy which was given by the Quaid and would continue to do so until the Kashmiri people
succeeded in their struggle.
Large number of Jamaat-i-Islami workers, including women and children, attended a rally on New M.A. Jinnah Road, which was
addressed by JI Karachi chief Hafiz Naeemur Rehman and other party leaders.
“We do not expect any good from the UN which remained unmoved on injustices committed not only in Kashmir but in Syria,
Myanmar and other Muslim countries,” said Mr Rehman while addressing the participants.
“Over 100,000 Kashmiri youngsters have been killed and thousands of women have been victimized and raped by Indian army but
the UN did not bother to take any action against India,” he added.

Karachi Mayor Wasim Akhtar said the father of the nation, Quaid-i-Azam Moh­
ammad Ali Jinnah, had termed Kashmir the jugular vein of Pakistan.
He said Pakistan was following the policy which was given by the Quaid and
would continue to do so until the Kashmiri people succeeded in their struggle.
