This document describes the design of a remote-controlled fan regulator that allows a user to operate a fan from up to 10 meters away. The remote uses an infrared light-emitting diode to transmit signals to an infrared sensor. The system is broken down into components including the infrared transmitter and sensor, signal amplifier, control logic, sampler, control stepper, output control logic, load, and display unit. The remote control device transmits infrared signals received by the sensor, as shown in the circuit diagram. The detector unit includes a sampler, control stepper, display, control unit, and power section. The aim was to design and construct a remote control that sends infrared signals to change the fan speed as displayed on the regulator.

controlled fan regulator. It enables the user to operate a fan regulator from approximately 10 meters away. The remote transmits a signal using an infrared light-emitting diode. The system was broken down into simpler functional blocks namely; infra-red transmitter, infra-red sensor, signal amplifier, control logic, sampler, control stepper, output control logic, load and display unit. The remote control
device has the task of sending the infra-red signal, which is received by the infra- red sensor. It’s mode of operation can be better understood through the circuit diagram shown. Detector The detector unit consist of: Sampler Control stepper Display unit Control unit Power section Conclusion The aim of this work was to design and construct a remote control for a fan regulator. The remote control device sends an infra-red beam, which is received by the infra-red sensor on the regulator, the display on the regulator indicates a change in fan speed and the fan also increases in speed.
