1538 A.D.-1576 A.D. Babar and his son Humayun tried to bring Bengal under Mughal authority. Sher Khan had dream to be the head of whole India. In 1537 A.D. Sher Khan attacked Gaur,the calital of Bengal twice. For the natural beauty of Gaur,Humayun named it Jannadbad. One the other hand, Sher Khan kept increasing thi strength. Sudden,Humayun got a news from his brother of Hindal was plotting to occupy the trone,without any alerment. Sher khan used this opportunity and defeated the Humayun in 1539 A.D. Then he got the title of Sher Shah. After Bihar,he paid attention to Bengal and defeated Mughal Ruler Ali Kuli. Humayun Sher Khan Daud Khan After death of Sher Shah,his son Jalal Khan,Firoz Khanand Mubariz Khan ruled Bengal for some years. At that time,polical condition of Bengal became very much complicated. After the 2nd battle of Panipath,Adil shah was defeated by Ghiyasuddin Bahadur Shah. Taz Khan , the king of Karrani dynasty killed Ghiyasuddin. After death of Taz Khan,his brother became king and shifted capital from Gaur to Tanda. Daud khan was the last Afghan Ruler. He introduced sermonishing his name before prayer and issued coins with his name. Being annoyed with Daud,Akbar ordered Munim khan to attact him. Daud Karrani defeat at the battle of Rajmahal The Bara Bhuiyans Zamindars are known as the “Bara Bhuiyans”. They ruled from the middle of 16th to middle of the 17th century. They struggled against Mughals. The 1st leader of the Bara Bhuiyans was Isha Khan. During the rule time of Isha Khan,he was attacked by others many time but they did not defeat him properly. After the death of Isha Khan,Musa Khan became the leader of the Bhuiyans. Musa Khan was defeated by Man Shing in Naval war but before final victory he came back Agra for Akbars illness. After death of Akbar,his son Selim came to the throne of Delhi and adopted his name “Jahangir”. Then,according to the Emperor name,Dhaka was named as “Jahangir Nagar”. And finally,through Musa Khan,Bhuiyans ruled came to an end.
