TOPIC: SOLUTION

• MEANING OF SOLUTION
• TYPES OF SOLUTION
• SATURATED
• UNSATURATED
• SUPERSATURATED

OBJECTIVES. AT THE END OF THE LESSON, STUDENTS SHOULD BE
ABLE TO:
• DEFINE SOLUTION
• MENTION AND EXPLAIN THE TYPES OF SOLUTION
• DIFFERENTIATE BETWEEN SATURATED AND UNSATURATED SOLUTION .

SOLUTION
MEANING OF SOLUTION.
A Solution Is A Homogenous Mixture Of Two Or More Substances.
It Is Formed When A Substance (Solute) Disappears (Dissolves) Into Another Substance (Solvent)
Completely.
SOLUTE + SOLVENT = SOLUTION.
Example, When You Add Salt To Water It Forms Salt Solution.
SALT (SOLUTE) + WATER (SOLVENT) = SOLUTION.
TYPES OF SOLUTION
We Are going to study three types of solution in this topic:
I. Saturated solution II. Unsaturated solution III. Supersaturated solution.
SATURATED SOLUTION: This is a solution which contain as much solute as it can
dissolve at a particular temperature.
UNSATURATED SOLUTION: This is a solution which can still dissolve more of the
solute at that particular temperature.
SUPERSATURATED SOLUTION: This is a solution which contains more solute than
it can normally dissolve at a particular temperature. A supersaturated solution
contains undissolved solute.
EVALUATION
1. DEFINE SATURATED AND UNSATURATED SOLUTION.
2. DIFFERENTIATE BETWEEN SATURATED AND UNSATURATED SOLUTION.
