(red)
• The color red stimulates our bodies, increasing heart rate and blood flow. It generates
strong feelings and enthusiasm, which is why we associate it with passion. Red is symbolic
of sex and romance, but it also has negative connotations. We associate red with anger,
violence, blood, and danger. Red is all about high energy, and designers use it to make
spaces lively and interesting.

Personal Discovery
• Born into a world of colours, we grow up surrounded by colour in the environment and in
our homes; we dress in colourful clothes, eat colourful food and make choices that are
informed by colour every day of our lives.
• Our response to colour is so basic that until the age of five or six, children who are asked to
sort coloured shapes will automatically divide them according to colour rather than their
shape.
• Throughout life, we continue to use colour as a cue for interpreting what we see – grey hair
tells us of middle age, a red traffic light brings us to a halt. Colour is a non-invasive means
of discovering yourself. Getting to know yourself is an essential part of life. This is why I
use colour as a tool to self-discovery. Behind every colour lies an emotion and also
message, which can guide you throughout your life and give you a deep understanding of
yourself and what’s happening in your life. Colour gets to the core of you.
COLOUR APPRECIATION
• the feeling gratitude and appreciation can be represented by the color pink. The color
pink carries with it the meaning of elegance and grace. Furthermore, it radiates sweetness
and romance. Dark pink is also the variation of pink that is often used as a symbol of
gratitude and appreciation.
• Since ages ago, people have been using the color pink and dark pink to express their
gratefulness toward someone. Pink color may not be the most complex color to create
and mix, but it is not the “outside” that matters. What truly matters is the “inside”. And
people usually use red roses to show their love and passion, do you know that the color of
a dark red rose that resembles dark pink color can also represent gratitude?
• Therefore, try to associate and use of pink color more often when you try to express your
appreciation towards other people
HUE
• Manufacturers of pigments use the word hue, for example, "cadmium yellow (hue)" to
indicate that the original pigmentation ingredient, often toxic, has been replaced by
safer (or cheaper) alternatives whilst retaining the hue of the original. Replacements
are often used for chromium, cadmium and alizarin.
