changing something.
Structures of
Modification
 are made up of two parts: the head
and the modifier

These structures can change the


meaning of a word. The head can
be in the form of a noun, a verb, an
adjective, or an adverb.
Modifying Nouns
Nouns can be modified using the
following patterns:

1. Adjective + Noun
2. Noun + Noun
3. Verb + Noun

Verbs can be modified using the
following patterns:

A. Adverb + Verb

1. Placing the adverb before the
verb

the auxiliary and the verb

Examples:

He happily sang to her.
Jessie danced merrily to the
music.
She has often felt uneasy.

by an adjective for
modification.
