on developing the abilities and attitudes of
individuals.
• Different personal traits and characteristics can help
or hinder a person’s leadership effectiveness and
require formalized programs for developing
leadership competencies

and developing candidates for key leadership and
professional positions over time to ensure the
continuity of management and leadership in an
organization.

workers (retention)
• To increase the pool of promotable
employees
• To support the implementation of a
strategic business plan
• To guide individual in their career path

that shape effective leaders.

Exploring leadership traits for
effective leaders.
• For example, emotional intelligence,
resourcefulness and flexibility of a leader,
help employees complete initiatives and
meet business goals.

hardworking, practical and bold enough to
take risks in the business.
• Other leadership traits like empathy,
willingness to collaborate and the ability to
listen assists the leader, allowing them to

• 360 degree feedback system is a form of feedback for leaders in which
their skills, effectiveness and influence as a leader are evaluated by a set
of colleagues.
• It helps leaders to learn and grow.
• They are evaluated through questionnaire and ratings
