This document proposes changes to the design of an existing generator room. The current design has several drawbacks, including insufficient ventilation and space between generators. This causes the generators to overheat quickly, leading to more frequent breakdowns and reduced efficiency and lifespan. The proposed new design would cover the entire room, increase the height, improve ventilation for fresh air intake and exhaust of hot air from radiators, and allow better access in emergencies. Diagrams show proposed air flow improvements and examples of better generator room designs.

Current Generator Room Layout Drawbacks of current Generator Room Design
Most of the area of generator room is not covered.
The height of the roof is not enough for the ventilation. The space between 275kva CAT generator and 500KVA CAT generator is not enough. The heat generated by generator is the air inlet to the other generator. There is no proper ventilation for the fresh air inlet to the generator and hot air from the radiators of the generator. The generator room is very congested and the sound canopy did not allow the heat generated to maintain the cool environment. IMPACTS of current Generator Room Design
The temperature of the generators gets high in very little time.
Breakdown occurs often. The life expectancy of the generator reduces. Efficiency of the generator reduces (Fuel , Power). Waste of water for cooling purpose. Life expectancy of radiator reduces. In case of emergency, heavy parts cannot be pulled out. Proposed Design Fresh air should enter the generator room through exhaust fans. Current design need more air to be enter to make
the environment around the generator cool.
Height of the room must be increased. Generator room must be covered from top. Canopy must be removed. Ventilation of air from radiators must be improved. 500kva Generator Air Flow
Total Air Flow needed
690 cubic meter/min
