• From the greek word philosophia, - “LOVE OF WISDOM”
• It is the study of general and fundamental problems
concerning matters such as ( EXISTENCE, KNOWLEDGE,
VALUES, REASON, MIND and LANGUAGE)
• PHILOSOPHICAL METHODS includes (questioning, critical
discussion, rational argument, and systematic presentation.
• Classic philosophical questions…
• Philosophers pose more concrete questions…
 RELIGION
• Religious studies also known as “study of religion”
• During the MEDIEVAL PERIOD, the term “religious”
was used as a noun to describe someone who joined
a monastic order (a religious)
• Academic field devoted to research into religious
beliefs, behaviors, and instruction.
• It describes, compares, interprets, and explains
religion, emphasizing systematic, historically based.
 BUSINESS
• Include basic information such as the service or
product, the target demographic, and a unique
selling proposition.
• May involve a new product or simply a novel
approach to marketing or delivering an existing
product.
• It is incorporated in a business plan..
 SCIENCE
• Concerned with the description, prediction, and
understanding of natural phenomena based on
empirical evidence from observation and
experimentation.
• Can be devided into 2 branches: LIFE SCIENCE
(biological science) and physical science (physics,
chemistry, astronomy, and earth)
 HOME ECONOMICS
• Family and consumer sciences
• Field of education, concerns management and
economics of the community and home.
• Covers 7 branches: COOKING, CHILD REARING,
COMMUNITY AWARENESS and EDUCATION, DESIGN
and HOME MANAGEMENT, TEXTILES and SEWING,
ECONOMICS and BUDGETING, DOMESTIC SCIENCE
or HOME SCIENCE.
