type of fragment.

What are sentence fragments?

A sentence fragment is a string of words that


does not form a complete sentence; there is a
 necessary component of a complete sentence
missing. This missing component may be a
subject (usually a noun) or a predicate (verb or
verb phrase) and/or when the sentence does not
express a complete idea.
Dependent clause
What do these sentences need?
•After months of research.

•Where I was born.

•Whenever I go to Greece.

•Whom I met at the book signing.

•Although she wants to go to the movies.


Correction
• He finally finished his novel, after months of research.

• The town where I was born is on the east coast.

• Whenever I go to Greece, I will visit Santorini.

• The author, whom I met at the book signing, was very cordial.

• Although she wants to go to the movies, she must study for her
communications test instead.
Missing the subject
What is needed in the following sentences?
