ENTREPRENEURSHIP

Course Description:

 This course deals with the concepts, underlying principles,


processes and implementation of a business plan. The
preliminaries of this course include the following: 1)
discussion on the relevance of the course; 2) explanation
of key concepts of common competencies; 3) explanation
of core competencies relative to the course; and 4)
exploration of career opportunities.

What is Entrepreneurship?
The term came from the French
world entreprende which means
“to undertake”.
In his classic work The Theory of
Economic Development, Joseph
Schumpeter
emphasized the role of
Entrepreneurship in the process of
economic transformation.

businesses, taking on financial risks in
the hope of profit.
Entrepreneur
Merriam-Webster an entrepreneur is “a person who
starts a business and is willing to risk loss in order to
make money.”
The Oxford English Dictionary’s an entrepreneur is “a
person who organizes and operates a business or
businesses, taking on greater than normal financial risks
in order to do so.”
The Macmillan English Dictionary —“Someone who uses
money to start businesses and make business deals”—yet
manages to be the least satisfying as well.
