STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
1. How can Persons with Disabilities and Senior
Citizens pay without the “Paki-abot System”? How
can the senior citizens and PWD’s have a comfortable
seat?
2. How will the proposed vehicle be fuel efficient?
3. How will the jeepney can easily accessible to the
PWD’s and Senior Citizens?
OBJECTIVES
The researchers provide a new ideas and new innovative products which
help to the benefactors to:
• To improve the passengers seats
• To provide an eco-friendly jeepney
• To develop an alternative source of energy aside from using gasoline or
diesel.
• To provide ramps instead of using stairs or steps.
• To provide coin oriented on the paying system of the senior citizens and
Persons with Disabilities.
•  Only Senior Citizen and PWD can use this Paying System?

Figure 1: Conceptual Framework of Efficient and Innovative Jeepney for the Passengers
RESEARCH HYPOTHESIS
• The researchers differentiate the new innovative jeepney in
ordinary jeepney.
• The researchers found out that in ordinary jeepney it is
usually use by the fuel and it consumes 26 to 35 passengers
while in the new model jeepney that there are proposing it
consumes 22 to 25 passengers seats but it can used by the
batteries that can recharge from the solar panel.
SCOPE AND LIMITATION
• This study focuses on the new model vehicle which concerned
to the Persons with Disabilities and Senior Citizens in Lucena,
City. This study was based on the existing documents and files
of prototype from the past researchers.
• The services is not included to the researchers study.
SAMPLING METHOD
• There will 5 respondents randomly who being to the all
commuters.
• The researchers also asked the concepts and the process on
new jeepney.
• This research will done by the gathering of al information of
the Public Utility Vehicle which is the Philippine Jeepney.
• The researchers interview to the interviewee to get their
opinions and the judgment on their newly jeepney design
whether it is possible or not.
DATA GATHERNG PROCEDURE
• The researchers use illustrative, experimental and interview
of this research.
• Use various references for data and information gathered to
accomplish this study.
• Collecting and summarizing of ideas and information
• Gathering information on the specification of the available
materials.
• Asking the professionals.
DATA ANALYSIS
• After the data collected from different sources and methods, it was
an organized and analyzed the results in creating prototype and
materials.
• In data analysis, the researchers planned and drawn the prototype
of new modern jeepney which is used in blueprint.
• Also this planned consist of the measurement on how will doing this
project.
• This battery is the source of energy which is benefited to start the
engine of this project. The stairs will improve using the electronic
wires to gain this prototype
EXPLANATION
• Most of the respondents are favor to add new facilities .
• They provide electricity that lessen the pollution in the
environment.
• Most of the problem are the maintenance in ordinary
jeepney in which is more expensive compare to the
jeepney.
• The Innovative jeepney design can be easily attracted.
• On the front door, they provide a folded ramps to ease ride
and accessible for the wheelchair users. After the 4 to 5
days the inner of the prototype, the passenger’s seats and
wheelchair storage will be provide.
INTERPRETATION
• The Ramps are provided
• The Fuel Engine that was replaced by the electricity.
• Solar Panel
• Comfortable seats
JUSTIFICATION
• The features and facilities are important that they
give accessibility and special needs of the Persons
with Disabilities and Senior Citizens.
• They found out that if it is hard to get a ride for the
PWD’s and Senior Citizens when it comes wheel
chairs.
• The design of Jeepney should be address the needs
of those commuters.
IMPLICATION
• This study will give a great impact to the commuters
especially Persons with Disabilities
• The Mechanical Engineers will gained.
• The students will gain a knowledge and awareness
to this study.
• To the Future Researchers, they can have additional
sources from this study.
SUMMARY OF FINDINGS
Based of the Following findings of that were revealed as follows
• By using of Paki-abot systems, the researchers decided to make a coin-
oriented in which benefited to the commuters especially to the
Persons with Disabilities and Senior Citizens. Also this system will be
helped to easily pay of money.
• Instead of using foam, the researchers providing a cotton in each seats
to comfort and relax.
• Instead of consuming fuel to operate, we can also use electricity and
solar panel for to enable to function.
• By using of Wheelchair ramps, Persons with Disabilities and Senior
Citizens easy the access of the jeepney.
CONCLUSION
• The design of comfortable seats was not easy to construct because we need
to prioritize first the condition and think some design that are not existing in
an ordinary jeepney.
• The researchers found out that using electricity is much cheaper than using
fuel engine and it also lessen the pollution, smoke emission and noise.
• The Researchers found out an alternative source of electricity which is the
sunlight that has high capability to charge the batteries of the vehicle.
• The researchers conclude that using ramps, they easily access in a jeepney
causing them to lessen their energy consumption.
• If there’s a change, the money counter flows through various hands back, the
fares are passed from one passenger to the next driver in front and say
“Bayad po”. So that’s why the coin-oriented systems make the task of paying
less difficult for the commuters.
RECOMMENDATION
• The study may be conducted for the additional improvement of the
proposed Jeepney Design for Persons with Disability and Senior
Citizens.
• A further study on the enhancing the jeepney for the Persons with
Disabilities and Senior Citizens.
• The solar panel and the electricity should be advisable for a
Jeepney to enable to function.
• The coin-oriented and the passenger seats need to improve for
• To the Local Government of Lucena, City, they develop and enhance
the jeepney design for the well-being of the Persons with
Disabilities and Senior Citizens.
