Engineering Graphics
Stephen W. Crown Ph.D.
Attend every lecture and lab
• Make arrangements prior to missing a class
or lab if possible.
• With instructor permission you may attend
an alternate lab section.
• Bring disks, graphics CD, headphones,
pencil, and paper to each lab.
• Homework is collected at the beginning of
the lab period.
• A weekly quiz is given at the end of each lab
period.
Complete every homework
assignment
• Homework assignments are listed on the
homework web page.
• Use the entire lab period to work on homework.
• Use the Screen Cam movies of each homework
assignment to help you learn new drawing tools and
alternative approaches.
– At the beginning follow the movies step by step.
– As you advance do the drawings on your own and watch the
movie after you finish to learn alternative approaches.
• Save a copy of all your assignments as some of them
will be used later in the course.
Use the review material provided
for the course
• Each lecture topic has lecture notes available for
review. Review these notes as each exam will
cover lecture and lab material.
• The games and quizzes page provide an
excellent review of lecture material.
Work diligently on the design
project
• Keep individual records of all your work on the
design project. Your partner may not finish the
course.
• Manage your design teams well. Establish
reasonable working deadlines. Equally divide
tasks. Set up group meeting times. Problems
with group members should be settled
immediately and not at the end of the semester.
• Complete each part of the design project
(drawings, solid model, report, and presentation).
