HISTORY
HISTORICAL INFLUENCE
INTRODUCTION:
• Historical influence is where events affect people's way of thinking and
often shapes their way of thinking on how to handle social issues.
• Studying history is important because it allows us to understand our
present.If we want to know how and why our world is the way it is today
we have to look into history for answers.
• Studying history can provide can provide us with insight into our cultures
of origin as well as cultures with which we might be less familiar.
• And also if we study the success and failure of the past, we may ideally
be able to learn from our mistakes and avoid repeating them in the
future.
HISTORICAL INFLUENCE IN POLITICS:
• The development of political institutions, rules, regulations, right and
duties, law and mode of justice, executive, legislative and administrative
functions, economic and financial implications, nature of bureaucracy,
fundamental principles of state policy are all defined under the
constitution history.
• Diplomatic history is a specialized branch of political history which deals
with the principles of international relations.
• History is very helpful to politics because the political aspects is a part of
the whole range of activity recorded by historian and knowledge of
history would enable the politicians to know the politics better and play
their role effectively.
HISTORICAL INFLUENCE IN
ECONOMICS:
• History is also closely related to Economics. The economic history of any
period is an important branch of history and its understanding is
absolutely essential for the proper understanding of history of any period.
• The days of the materialistic interpretation of history by Marx and such
class struggle, man’s skill in earning, arts and crafts, trade, business and
commerce, land revenue, taxes and a host of all other economic activities
of the past figure very prominently in history.
• History is so closely interlinked with the study of economic problems that
it would not be possible to reconstruct history without knowledge of
the relevant economic problems.
HISTORICAL INFLUENCE IN CULTURE:
• A country that defines itself through great historical events will have a
unique political system that in turn impacts the national culture. A very
obvious way history impacts culture is through politics.
• Cultural history combines the approaches of anthropology and history to
look at popular cultural traditions and cultural interpretations of historical
experience.
• Cultural history records and interprets past events involving human
beings through the social, cultural, and political milieu of or relating to
the arts and manners that a group favors. Cultural history involves the
aggregate of past cultural activity, such as ceremony, class in practices,
and the interaction with locales.
IMPORTANCE OF HISTORY:
Understanding One’s Existence
Everyone wonders why their environments and situations are like what they
are right now. All this can be explained by the study of history which can tell
us the story of our species, race, country, state, forefathers and our culture.
For A Better Future
When we study about wars and other atrocities committed in the past, we
also analyze their causes, their courses and their path. This helps us in
preventing future wars and mistakes of similar kind. It also helps us in
determine the future effects of our actions by comparing our situations with
situations in history.
Learn From Our Ancestors
People like Einstein, Newton, Martin Luther King Jr., and Gandhi have
contributed important thoughts and teachings to their respective fields.
They had toiled extensively to garner these ideas for the future
generations.
Inventions & Discoveries
There are many important inventions, formulas, medicines and
discoveries which belonged to our ancestors and were lost in time.
In the course of historical research and reviews, these were discovered
and then used.
ADVANTAGES OF STUDYING HISTORY:
• Studying history helps us develop an appreciation for our roots and what
came before us, along with what sacrifices were made to get there.
• Studying history helps us understand characters (i.e. human beings) over
time and in contrast,we can see how decisions played out over periods of
time.
• Studying history helps us understand the history and evolution of ideas. 
• It helps us understand the practical consequences for particular
ideologies and worldviews and ways of thinking about life, politics, and
the world.
DISADVANTAGES OF STUDYING
HISTORY:
• Written histories may not be real. Because, many histories are re-
written by selfish people and many histories are hidden.
• Many ancient histories and their evidences are buried and forgotten.
• Current generation people could not find exact history and their life
styles.
• Histories are not real. They are just re written and revealed by
archaeologists with a permission for Government.
• For some reasons and selfishness, our histories are modified
according to some group’s wishes.
