Summary
The myth tells that Heracles was the son of Zeus and Alcmena. But his
birth was not the result of a love relationship, as Zeus posed as
Alcmena's husband, who is called Host, and adopted his form of
exploitation that had gone to war. In this way, he came to have a son
with her, Heracles. That is what lasts the consequences for the young
Heracles, because the wife of Zeus, Hera, upon finding out and enraged
by this event, was in charge of tormenting Heracles' life as a child.
Heracles was not known for having great intelligence or wisdom, the
things he enjoyed most were wine, food and women. He was also very
temperamental, which made him lose control of his immeasurable
strength every time he let himself be carried away by anger. However,
this did not mean that everything would be bad. Once calmed down, he
came to understand the weight of his actions and accepted the
punishment he deserved. Coming to commit not to use his force for the
duration of this punishment.
Setting
Where did it happen? When?
The birth of this great hero occurred in the Greek before Christ
city of Thebes, while most of the Greek tragedies
that account for his life relate the hatred that Hera,
the creator, is, of course, Hercules, was the living
proof of the so many infidelities that Hera must
have suffered from her husband Zeus.
Main Characters
Our Greek hero also had children with Megara, upon whom a
terrible event fell. Hera, the wife of Zeus, as we have already
mentioned, unable to defeat Hercules because he was stronger
than her caused him to lose his memory for a period of time.
Heracles, being confused, murdered his wife and their three
children in cold blood and when he recovered his memory, he
was filled with sadness and agony. To remedy his acts, he
agreed to perform 12 works, commissioned after visiting the
Oracle at Delphi as penance for his acts.
Solution He performs the twelve jobs and becomes a
well-known hero
It was not for his muscles or his offspring
that Hercules became a true hero, it was for
the fact of being constant and becoming
unconditional for those around him. The
message is clear: we must give ourselves
with love and work persistently for what we
want.
