    When Chilean speakers start learning English they


    can get easily confused by these two sounds. They are
    very similar but they are not the same and not
    pronouncing them correctly can lead into
    misunderstandings in conversations.

    The sound ch is shorter and harder tan the


    sound produced by sh, it feels like an explosion.

    The sound in sh is softer and you can hold the


    sound for some seconds.
