LinkedIn Leadership Connect

Vision

a Platform for great minds to

share their knowledge, experience
and perspectives IN
LEADERSHIP DOMAIN.
Background
• This platform is to invite all great minds to share their knowledge, experiences and
perspectives about Leadership domain with each other and grow together
meaningfully.

• This group is strictly not intended for any promotional activities of any of the group
member’s business activities. Kindly refrain sharing any commercial branding,
greetings, sexual, personal and sensitive information on the group to avoid any
inconvenience to other group members.

• This group has been started by Sunil Sharma, Bhavna Shah, Rakhi Softa Sharma and
Basavaraj Patil. We’re just the facilitators in creating this platform and none of us claim
any ownership about it as it belongs to all of us.
Background
• Group Admins do not have any special privileges other than ensuring there are no
conflicts such as promoting religious precepts, texts, sexual contents or doctrines,
making any derogatory statements about a person, community or country through
anyone’s posts/updates/articles or during any conversation with the group members at
any point in time. If found any, Admins will have all rights to remove such people from
the group post warnings.

• Onus of growing this group lies with each of the group member and each one of us
must take complete responsibility to take this group to the next level by all means.
Understanding of how the group works!
We've 3 things about this group that every group member must know about and abide by
to comply with:

1. Chat group called "LinkedIn Leadership Connect", which is meant only for the casual
conversations about the group happenings, do's and don'ts and any other decisions to
be taken with respect to the group.
• We can't submit any posts from this chat group directly
• LinkedIn has some restrictions on the number of members to be invited on any chat groups.
We've already reached that restriction level and wouldn't be able to add more members to
this chat group due to the LinkedIn restriction
• Kindly refrain sharing any commercial branding, greetings, sexual, personal and sensitive
information on this chat group to avoid any inconvenience to other group members
• Our main objective is to use the group as stated in the point number 2 in the next slide for
all our conversations in the Leadership domain. This group doesn't have any restrictions in
terms of adding any number of members to it unlike this chat group
Understanding of how the group works!
2. We’ve created a LinkedIn Group by name "Leadership Connect". Any group
conversations can happen on this group through posts format. This is completely different
from our chat group “LinkedIn Leadership Connect”.

• This group would be similar to any other LinkedIn group that you might have received an
invitation from in the past
• This group can be used internally to converse on topics that are specifically meant to the group
members only. For ex: If we’ve to submit a poll to take an opinion of the group members or
share knowledge/experience on any particular topic only with the group members then we
should be using this group
• While posting any posts or articles, kindly use hashtag #LinkedInLeadershipConnect so that rest
of the group members can directly access the hashtag as specified in the next slide to review
and react to your posts at their convenience. By using the hashtag, the group members don't
have to copy/paste the post links on the chat group, which can clog our regular chat box and
cause an inconvenience to all the group members
Understanding of how the group works!
• Hashtag #LinkedInLeadershipConnect can be accessed in two different ways as mentioned below:
1. Access the hashtag through "My Network" --> "Manage My Network" --> "# Hashtags" and
then select the same to react to the posts submitted by the group members
2. The hashtag can also be accessed directly by typing #LinkedInLeadershipConnect in the
"Search" box from the LinkedIn "Home" tab provided you are following the hashtag. If not, all
the group members are required to follow the hashtag by clicking "Follow" on the hashtag
when accessed for the first time

• Post selecting the hashtag, sort by "Recent" option at the "Sort by" option at the top to review all
the recently submitted posts

• Using this hashtag in all your posts doesn't trigger any notifications to the group members to act
upon. However, using the same would ensure that all group members' posts are stored under one
hashtag, which can act like a “Knowledge Management” tool on the leadership domain. Hence,
anything and everything that we do on this group must be pertaining to the leadership domain
only
Understanding of how the group works!
• How to create posts in “Leadership Connect” group directly?

i. Go to "My Network" (next to the "Home" tab) on LinkedIn

ii. Select "Groups" from the "Manage My Network" tab on the left side

iii. Select "Leadership Connect" group from the groups displayed

iv. Click "Start a conversation in this group" and post it

v. When posts are submitted in this group then all the group members who have been part of it
automatically get notified. So anything that is specifically meant to the group alone must be created
in the group directly

vi. If anyone wants to take group's opinion on certain things and expect the whole group to voice out
their opinion then the do the same here using "𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐚 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐥" option at the time of submitting posts.
Make sure to select only this group. Otherwise, the post gets submitted to the rest of the world
Understanding of how the group works!
• If you prefer submitting your posts with LinkedIn family i.e., with the wider audience as well as
to our group members then do the following:

i. Create and submit your posts the way you do it today with LinkedIn family

ii. Share your posts in the group using "SHARE" feature of LinkedIn and by selecting our group
"Leadership Connect" at the time of sharing your posts

iii. When your posts are shared with the group "Leadership Connect" then all our group members will
automatically get notified so that no need to tag the group members separately on your posts when
you do so

iv. When group members react to your shared posts then all group members must make sure to go to
the original post while putting any comments so that the same gets counted on the original post
directly. You can put a like on the shared post + click the original post from the shared post to react
(Like + Comment) on the same
Understanding of how the group works!

• While posting updates/articles, use your own hashtag as well so that all your posts would get
stored under your hashtag too. This would also help you to trace all your posts under one hashtag
of yours at any point in time. This would also help you from the overall personal branding
perspective.

• Note:
1. Whenever you update any hashtags in your posts at the time of updating your posts make
sure the same gets saved properly as LinkedIn tries to append 1 or 2 additional letters at the
end of the hashtags when you update any in your posts

2. We couldn't use LinkedIn word while naming this group to keep it in sync with our chat group
and the group page (as mentioned in point # 3 in the next slide) due to LinkedIn restrictions
Understanding of how the group works!
3. The group page called as "LinkedIn Leadership Connect" is created to share any information about
our group to the outside world i.e., with wider audience of LinkedIn family. Currently, we're not using
this feature. As and when we grow and if there is anything that we need to communicate from our
group to the LinkedIn family then we would be using this feature.

• The posts that we submit from this group page automatically gets published to the whole LinkedIn Family

• We’ll not be able to submit any posts from here to any specific LinkedIn group. This is kind of doing global
branding of our group when we grow down the lane

• The group page link is as follows:

https://www.linkedin.com/company/linkedin-leadership-connect/?viewAsMember=true

• All our group objectives are stated clearly in the "About" section of the above group page link. Kindly refer
the same and ensure compliance

• All group members are required to follow the group page

Group Strategy and Topics for discussion, posts
or articles creation
• The group strategy is to share knowledge, experiences and perspectives about leadership
domain with each other and grow together meaningfully

• A new ppt as attached on the next slide has been created to capture all the leadership
domain specific topics for our discussions on the chat group as well as posts or articles
creation going forward in the “Leadership Connect” group

• Posts/Articles can be submitted with the entire LinkedIn family along with sharing the same
in the “Leadership Connect” group, which automatically triggers notifications for the group
members to act upon
Group Strategy and Topics for discussion, posts
or articles creation
• Each week, 1 topic would be selected from the list compiled in the attached ppt & the entire
group would contribute on the same by creating posts/articles around it for the whole week to
share their real-time experiences and perspectives on such selected topics

• Those who can create quality engagement would be recognised in the group. A separate google
sheet tracker would be maintained on the same, which should be updated by all the group
members about their posts’ statistics in terms of number of views, likes and comments

Discussion Topics
Do’s and Don’ts
• All the group members are expected to adhere to the guidelines stated on this ppt and must go
through the ppt and understand the strategy and how the group operates. Post going through the ppt,
each group member must confirm back by stating -
“𝐈’𝐯𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐩𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐠𝐮𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐧 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐡𝐞 g𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩 𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬.”

• All group members must respect everyone in their thoughts, action and reactions. Take time to engage
with your readers and respond to their reactions at your convenience

• Everyone is accountable for sustaining and making this group grow. Always be courteous in all your
messages

• If in doubt or for any clarifications it is always better to check with the admin team first instead of
asking questions on the group directly to avoid any inconvenience to other group members

• 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐝𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐞'𝐬 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐥 𝐭𝐨 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟 𝐨𝐫 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩. 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐫𝐞

It’s awesome to be a part of the Leadership Connect
There are many minds with a wealth of intellect.

Every one is a master of many subject

There are many topics to dissect. Connect.Communicate.Celebrate
The launch is all set and perfect
Lets makes sure that nothing is incorrect.

We must ensure that there is mutual respect

And integrity shall we all protect.

The message must be simple and direct

So that the audience knows what to expect.

It is our duty check for any defect

And make a conscious decision not to neglect.

There is no doubt readers will be feel the effect

Because the content is going to be very select.

I am sure this is a wonderful prospect

My sincere thanks to all the architects.

Once we start to reflect

No wonder it is going to be a wonderful project !!!
