PERFECT HAS / HAVE + BEEN

•CONTINOUS
It is used for actions that have
started in the past but continue in
• the present.
Have= I/You/We/They
• Has= He/she/It
• Examples: They have been talking for
three hours.
STRUCTURES:
• Positive:
Pronoun+ Have/Has+ been+ Verb ING + Complement

• Example:
She has been studying English since she was 16.
• Negative:
Pronoun+ Have/Has+ Not + been+ Verb ING + Complement

• Example:
They haven’t been talking for more than a few minutes.

• Questions:
Have/Has + Pronoun + Been + Verb ING + Complement

• Example:
Have you been waiting long?
PAST PERFECT CONTINUOS
• HAD BEEN

• Example:
Lindsay had been working at the store
since 2005 when it closed.
