INTRODUCCIÓN
Bandeja Paisa is probably the most popular dish in Colombia, it is originally
from the Andean region of the country, where people are called "Paisas"

The fundamental characteristic of this dish is its


enormous abundance, both in quantity and variety of
food, that's why it is served in large plates called trays.
HISTORY OF THE TRAY PAISA

The dish has its origins in the department of Antioquia.


Since the mid-nineteenth century the paisa tray was
the only food that accompanied the muleteer from the
Antioquia region. It is a culinary compound with a high
proportion of carbohydrates, since it had to replace the
great expenditure of energy in the days of travel that
the Antioquia horseman had to develop in his daily
work.

It contains several foods rich in

- iron
- proteins
- Abundant carbohydrates that provide energy

La Tray Paisa is a typical meal in Colombia, the main


time of consumption is at lunch.

 Eggs : excellent source of iron, is the protein with


the highest biological value.

 Rice: offers more vitamins and fiber than any


carbohydrate

 Arepa: brings energy


 Meat: provide protein.
 Banana : provides calories
 Tomatoes: it is a very healthy food, it favors the
healing process.
 Pork rind And chorizo: It is not healthy to overeat
because it provides a lot of fat to the body
 Beans: they are a good source of carbohydrates,
helps cardiovascular health.
 Avocado: provides healthy fat to the body that helps
the heart
