Definitions :

“The art or science of what is equitable and good.”

“The body of principles recognized and applied by the


state(government) in the administration of justice.”

“Law is the crystallized commonsense of the community.”

Characteristics of Law:

 A set of rules and regulations written or unwritten.


 Governs the external behaviour of human beings.
 The main object is maintaining order in society.
 Given/made by politically superior authorities.
 Applied in Administration of Justice.
 In simple words, it can be called as a common-sense of the
community.
