PRODUCT INTRODUCTION
The HP Notebook Battery Charger is an HP commercial notebook accessory that
enables users to charge a notebook’s battery without having it inserted in the
notebook’s battery bay.

The HP Notebook Battery Charger


supports all HP commercial notebook
batteries.

The HP Notebook Battery Charger is


available worldwide.

NOTE: The HP Notebook Battery Charger supports select HP consumer notebook batteries and AC adapters.
The HP Notebook Battery Charger does not support the Bond-type AC adapters that ship with some HP
consumer notebooks.

The HP Notebook Battery Charger provides the following features:

– Supports 5, 6, and 8 pin HP commercial notebook batteries


– Supports Smart-pin and non Smart-pin AC adapters
– Supports all HP commercial notebook AC adapters

1. Select the charging cable that
matches the connector on the
battery.
NOTE: The HP Notebook Battery Charger
ships with 5-pin, 6-pin, and 8-pin charging
cables.

2. Connect the mini USB


connector on the charging cable
to the mini USB port on the HP
Notebook Battery Charger.

3. Connect the charging cable to the connectors on the battery.

4. Connect the AC adapter
connector pin to the
appropriate port on the HP

NOTE: Notebook Battery Charger.


The HP Notebook Battery Charger has
Smart-pin and non Smart-pin ports.

5. Connect one end of the


power cord to the AC
adapter, and the other end to
an AC power source.

CAUTION: Use only the AC adapter that


shipped with the notebook. Ensure that
only one AC adapter is connected at a
time.

1. Lift the charging cable latch to release
the charging cable connector.

2. Remove the charging cable connector


from the charging cable slot.

3. Insert a small flat-bladed screwdriver into
the charging cable removal slot on the
charging cable mini USB connector.

4. Lift the screwdriver up to disconnect the


charging cable mini USB connector from the
HP Notebook Battery Charger mini USB
port.

5. Connect another charging cable by


connecting the mini USB connector to the
mini USB port on the HP Notebook Battery
Charger.

6. Push the charging cable mini USB connector


until it is flush with the side of the HP
Notebook Battery Charger.

STORAGE
The HP Notebook Battery Charge has a built-in storage feature that neatly stores
the connected charging cable when it is not in use.

WARRANTY
The HP Notebook Battery Charger features a standard one year limited hardware
warranty.

SUPPORT STRATEGY
HP will continue to provide support for the HP Notebook Battery Charger for 5
years after it has reached the end of manufacturing (EOM).

The HP Notebook Battery Charger is not serviceable. Damaged or defective


units cannot be serviced or repaired by the customer or by HP.

HP will replace defective units at no cost to the customer.
