PARAMETER

Introduction : A structure,
including supports, erected over
an obstruction, such as water, a
highway, or a railway; having a
roadway or track for carrying
traffic or other moving loads.
BRIDGE
PLAN & ELEVATION
Parameters of Bridge
Abutment
Pier With Pier Cap
Girder
Deck With Railing
Elastomeric Neoprene Bearing Pad For
Abutment & Pier
Pile For Abutment & Pier
ABUTMENT
An abutment supports the ends of a
bridge superstructure and necessary
support part of the approach slab.

An Abutments are used to support the

end of the first or the last span
ABUTMENT
PIER WITH PIER CAP
A pier is a raised structure, it is used
to support between the firs and last
span of a bridge superstructure.

A pier cap situated on two piers to

support girder and deck slab.

Girder
Girder is the main horizontal support of a
structure which supports smaller beams is
called diaphragm used in Bridge
construction.

Girders often have an I-shape cross section

also have a box shape, Z shape or other
forms.
GIRDER
DECK WITH RAILING

A shallow, reinforced-concrete structural member that

is very wide compared with depth. Spanning between
beams, girders, or columns, slabs are used for bridge
decks.

Pre Cast rail bars & Cast-in-situ rail post have been
provided here.

Elastomeric Neoprene Bearing Pad On Pier
Reinforced elastomeric bearings have been provided
below each girder and top of pier cap.
Elastomeric Neoprene Bearing Pad On Abutment
Reinforced elastomeric bearings have been provided
below each girder and top of abutment end.
Pile For Abutment & Pier
Pile is the lowest part of the structure below ground
level and transmits dead loads, live loads and other
loads to the soil.
The design length of
piles for any abutments
completely depends on
height of Abutment, span
length type of sub soil &
its geological condition.
Therefore no typical
design is applicable for
different site conditions.
