Bipolar Junction Transistor (BJT) or
Transistor
The transistor was invented by William Shockley
in 1947.
A bipolar junction transistor, is a semiconductor
device having two junctions with three
terminals.

Bipolar Junction Transistor (BJT) or
Transistor
The junctions are formed by sandwiching either
P-type or N-type semiconductor layers between a
pair of opposite types.
The three terminals are emitter, base and
collector. The emitter emits electrons, the
collector collects electrons and the base controls
the flow of electrons.
