INTRODUCTION

We proceed to integrate, the automatic gear shifting

-transmission system, an auto-clutch operation and a
fingerprint based auto ignition system, all this controlled
and monitored from one central unit, “In-Vehicle
Infotainment Tablet”.
Our idea of an Infotainment based Motor-vehicle Automation is
to integrate :

 Automatic gear- shifting technology with an integrated auto-

clutch featured transmission mechanism, that sequentially
shifts the gears on the Infotainment Tablet, to facilitate a
simplified transmission and a smooth gear meshing.

 Biometric Finger-print recognition based Ignition system on

the Infotainment Tablet, to authorize the Self-Ignition in the
motor-vehicle and authenticate with the enhanced security.
Therefore, the entire objectives of our project is towards
developing an Infotainment based Motor-vehicle Automation,
that integrates the Motor-vehicle Gear Transmission and
Ignition system, to be controlled and monitored from In-Vehicle
Infotainment Tablet.

Automation of Auto Clutch Integrated Manual
Gear Transmission

 In our project, two electro-magnetic coils are supposed to be

coupled to the gear rod of the two ends. The Infotainment touch
pad signal is passed to the Microcontroller unit that activates the
relay.

 Implementing this technology with an

auto-clutch feature mechanism, the gear
shifting process is governed by the
Infotainment Tablet interface, whose touch
response is recorded and performed into an
assembly level algorithm.
Fingerprint Authorized Motor-vehicle Ignition
System
• Our idea of prototype consists of fingerprint software module used
to store the database of the valid users, a hardware unit- Atmel
89S52 MCU for interfacing and the ignition system module to ignite
the vehicle.
• Now when a person tries to operate the
vehicle and the CPU matches the fingerprint of
the person with the stored database, if the
match results is successful, then the Ignition
Mechanism commences.
Embedded Network Systems
MCU1 –
• Shift the Gears up/down and sense the neutral position of the gear
• Control the power of Ignition coil based on Fingerprint
authorization
• Transmitting the Clutch enable signal to the 2nd MCU

MCU2 –
• Control the Automation of Clutch in
response to 1st MCU
• Sense the Brake enable and disable the
condition for Clutch Pressing

APPLICATIONS

 Auto transmission is a boon in such

situations. This will help them understand
the right times to shift gears without
needing to worry about disengaging the
clutch.
 Sometimes the gear don’t mesh properly due
to which life span of gears are reduced. So to
avoid this, and to facilitate a simplified
transmission and a smooth gear meshing,
Semi-automatic transmission is done with the
help of Electromagnetic gear transmission.

X Hydraulic/ Pneumatic Transmission Systems

 Accordingly, Infotainment Tablet based Semi-
automated gear shifting mechanism is
considerably significant for physically
handicapped users. This system gives more
benefits and reduces time delay in gear
 Biometrics finger print recognition can be
used as a good and effective security option,
to start or ignite the motorcycle against the
use of conventional methods of key locks.
