Learning Outcomes: By the end of this lesson, pupils


should be able to:
1)Define colonisation
2)List out the colonisers and the
states being colonised with its
chronology.
3)State the purposes of colonisation
Overview of Lesson
Learning Objective: By the end of this lesson, pupils should be able
to:
1)State the definition and concept of
colonisation by writing it down on the mind
map.
2)Mark the states that had been colonised by
Portuguese, Holland, Britain and Japan with its
chronology of time.
3)List out the purposes of colonisation in the
graphic organiser.
Previous Knowledge: Pupils had been exposed to the location of
states on the map and learned about
colonisation of Sabah and Sarawak before.

Moral Values: Cooperation, thankfulness


Patriotism elements: 1. Unity in protecting the country
2. Awareness in protecting the country
Set Induction
• This step aims to create the interest of pupils.
• Teacher plays a video clip ‘Leftenan Adnan’
• From the video, several questions will be
posted by the teacher.
• The pupils’ answer will lead to the purpose of
the lesson on that day.
Step 1 (Team Word Web)
• The aim of this step is to elicit the ideas from the pupils.
• The learning objective of this step:
– pupils will be able to define colonisation and concept of
colonisation.
• Team Word Web-Pupils learn through cooperative
method.
• Multiple Intelligence Element: Verbal/Linguistic
• Study Skill: Note-Taking Skill
• CCTS: Listing
• Moral value: Cooperation
• Patriotism element: Awareness in protecting the country
Step 1 (Team Word Web)
• Pupils are divided into six groups.
• Each pupil is given a mind map
• Pupils discuss in their group to complete the
mind map.
• Once they have finished, teacher calls for
representative from each group to write their
points on the whiteboard.
• Every points will be labelled with their group’s
name, thus pupils know which group has
contributed the points.
Step 1 (Team Word Web)
• Teacher discusses the points.
• Pupils write down the points discussed in the
mindmap given.
• Teaching Resource:

• This step aims to restructure and develop the pupils’
idea.
• The learning objective of this step:
- List out the colonisers and the states that had been
colonised with its chronology.
• Mix and Match-Pupils learn through cooperative
method.

• Study Skill: Communicating Skill
• CCTS: Identifying, Categorising
• Moral value: Cooperation

Step 2 (Mix and Match)
• This step will be presented in micro teaching.
Step 3 (Treasure Hunt)
• The aim of this step is to apply the prior ideas
(colonisation).
• The learning objective of this step:
– Pupils will be able to list out the purposes of
colonisation in the graphic organiser.
• Multiple Intelligence Element: Kinesthetic
• Study Skill: Note-Taking Skill
• CCTS: Information transferring
• Moral value: Thankfulness
• Patriotism element: Awareness in protecting the country
Step 3 (Treasure Hunt)
• Each group will be given a clue which tells the
location of the hidden information.
• Pupils search for the hidden information
based on the clues.
• Pupils share the information found with the
class.
• Pupils rearrange the information and write it
down on graphic organiser
Conclusion
• This step aims to conclude the lesson of that
day.
• Teacher will revise the content of that day
lesson by posting several questions.
• Teacher asks the pupils to stand up and sing
the National Anthem.
