WHO WAS TED BUNDY?

■ Theodore Robert Cowell was born in


Burlington, Vermont, on November
24, 1946. Thed Bundy did not live a
normal life, as he always lived in the
midst of violence. His father was an
American air force veteran who
abandoned his mother before he was
born. Louise, the boy’s mother, led
him to believe that she was her older
sister and that her maternal
grandparents were actually her
parents.
ACADEMIC BACKGROUND

■ Ted Bundy enrolled at the University


of Puget Sound and began to study
psychology and was always known as
an excellent student. In 1967 he fell
in love and began a relationship with
Stephanie Brooks. Two years later,
his girlfriend graduated and ended
her relationship with Bundy.

FIRST CRIMES AND MURDERS

■ In 1974, still in college, Ted Bundy


entered the room of Joni Lenz who
was 18, a student who was assaulted
in the room of his residence. Bundy
hit her with a blunt instrument and
raped her with the leg of the bed.

irreversible neurological damage

JUDGMENTS AND ESCAPES

He married Carol Ann Boon and they had a daughter together,
who changed her name to escape her past.
