Sports Writer

This play-by-play report is preceded by
a brief lead which gives the score of the
game, deciding factors in the result, and
the particular feature angle of the sports
game.

At the end of the account, there is also

appended a summary including the
statistical data of the scores and the
players.
Sportswriter makes special emphasis on
various aspects of the game, such as
highlights, or gives dramatic and
colorful accounts of the entire crowd of
the human-interest features of the
particular game.
 The goal of the sportswriter as the
purveyor and disseminator of factual, blow-
by-blow accounts of any sports event, is to
write a simple story for the average readers.

demand vigorous expression and terse, crisp
style.
 The sportswriter is under obligation to
observe faithfully the rules of the “game of
sports writing”.
