Custom is a tradition which is a belief or behaviour passed down

within a group or society with symbolic meaning or special


significance with origins in the past of there religion and culture.

Belief is a state of the mind, treated in


arts collectively: art, music, literature, and
various academic disciplines,
related intellectual activities, considered
collectively especially philosophy and psychology,
as well as traditional culture

In reference to the convention form,
CUSTOM is a set of agreed, stipulated or generally accepted
rules, norms, standards or criteria, often taking the form of a
custom.
For e.g., some believe that if a black cat crosses their way, it
is a bad sign and some believe that if a snake crosses their
way, it is worse. This can be best exemplified as a difference
between belief and customs. The above statements resemble
beliefs but not customs.
VALUES are ideal or idea thought to be worthy. It can
be termed as upholding traditions.

1. Why do we have puja rooms?

Since we believe that god is our creator and we


must never forget him and grace on us, thus, to
give him respect we have puja rooms in our
homes.

Since ancient time people have been using various
tools and their technology to tackle up their problem
and to amend their lifestyle. Earlier, tools were
handmade and of material like
timber, which was not long lasting.
But with passing time ,they felt
need of long lasting component and
started using stone, steel etc. Now
a days, we are using factory made
tools, which is having a quite different technology to
operate and function.
  With growing time not only the method of
preparation and material of tools have been
changed, but also their values in our life.
Before one used to have their very own
technology and tools and they were known by
their techniques only, e.g, a farmer had his on
techniques to handle his tools and grow up the
crop but others could not do that. But now,
anyone can grab the technique of a particular
aspect and perform well in that, using various
kind of tools belonging to it.
                                                            
Indian dresses reflects the country’s diverse and ancient
culture .Indians are heirs to a rich tradition of textile weaving.
Dressing in India varies from village to village and city to city.
Traditional clothing in India greatly varies across different
parts of India and is influenced by the local culture ,geography
,climate and rural/urban settings. In India popular style of
dress includes draped garments such as sari for women and
dhoti or lungi for men. Sari is the six yard long cloth draped
beautifully in the most intriguing manner. Salwar kameez are
mainly worn by north Indians .
Ghagra cholis with their glittering mirror work is most
attractive. This type of Dresses are mainly worn by people
belongs to Gujarat, Rajasthan.
Variations of these dresses are worn in north eastern and
southern part of india called Half saris.
In Meghalaya ,the women favour the jyensyem, a
traditional dress.
In Arunachal , Nagaland , Mizoram, they prefer
blouse and long clothes.
Indian women perfect their sense of charm and
fashion with the make up and ornaments .
Bindi , mehandi, earings, bangles and other
jewellery.
Bindi is often an essential part of a Hindu women
makeup.
Worn on their forehead some consider the bindi as
an auspicious mark.
Traditionally ,the red bindi worn by marriaged
Hindu women.
Some wear sindoor a traditional red or orange red
powder in the parting of their hair.
