WHAT IS CLOUD COMPUTING
In a simple way, cloud computing is a technology that allows remote access to software, file
storage and data processing via the Internet, making it an alternative to running on a personal
computer or server local. In the cloud model, there is no need to install applications locally on
computers.
Cloud computing offers individuals and businesses the ability to have a well-maintained, secure,
easily accessible, and on-demand computing resource pool.
HOW DOES CLOUD COMPUTING WORK?
Cloud computing uses a network layer to connect users' peripheral point devices,
such as computers, smartphones, and portable accessories, to centralized resources in
the data center. Before cloud computing, reliable software execution by service
providers was only possible if they could also pay to maintain the necessary server
infrastructure.

“The cloud serves businesses of all sizes ... the cloud is for everyone. The cloud is a democracy ”

MARC BENIOFF | EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF SALESFORCE

MAIN FEATURES OF CLOUD COMPUTING

On Demand: No need to consult someone or have an IT professional involved in

server provisioning or network storage. You have the computing power you need
when you need it.
Multiplatform: It is enough to have an Internet connection to access the service
on your laptop, tablet, smartphone or desktop computer.
Pool resources: It follows the multi-user model, which means that there are
multiple users of the software.
MAIN FEATURES OF CLOUD COMPUTING

Fast flexibility: The user has an experience

that is sized based on demand and actual use.
Imagine a hotel that changes the size of the bed
from queen size to king size in the same
"room".
Measured service: The use of resources is
monitored, controlled and reported in advance.
This makes the computing capacity essentially
the same in relation to a paid utility service.
WE HAVE SEVERAL TYPES OF CLOUDS
PUBLIC CLOUDS
Cloud resources (such as servers and storage) are
owned by another cloud service provider.
Microsoft Azure is an example of a public cloud.
In a public cloud, share the same hardware,
storage, and network devices with other
organizations or "tenants" in the cloud.
Frequently, public cloud deployments are used to
provide web emails, online Office applications,
storage, and development and test environments.
ADVANTAGES OF PUBLIC CLOUDS

• Lower costs: No need to purchase hardware or software, and you only

pay for the service you use.
• Maintenance-free - your service provider takes care of it.
• Nearly unlimited scalability - Resources are available on demand to meet
your business needs.
• High reliability: a wide network of servers ensures that no problems
occur.
PRIVATE CLOUD

A private cloud is made up of computing resources that are

exclusively used by a company or organization. The private
cloud can be physically located in your organization's local
data center or hosted by an external service provider.
Private clouds are often used by government agencies,
financial institutions, and any medium or large organization
that conducts business-critical operations and seeks to
increase control over its environment.
ADVANTAGES OF PRIVATE CLOUDS

• More flexibility: Your organization can customize the cloud environment to

meet specific business needs.
• Better security: resources are not shared with others, therefore, it is possible
to have higher levels of control and security.
• Greater scalability: Private clouds can still offer the scalability and efficiency
of a public cloud.
HYBRID CLOUD
Usually called "the best of both worlds," hybrid clouds
combine local infrastructure (or private clouds) with public
clouds, so organizations can reap the benefits of both. In a
hybrid cloud, data and applications can move between
private and public clouds for more flexibility and deployment
options, For example, you can use the public cloud to meet
high-volume needs with less security, such as web email, and
the private cloud (or other on-premises infrastructure) for
confidential business operations essential to the business,
such as financial reporting.
ADVANTAGES OF HYBRID CLOUDS

• Control: Your organization can maintain a private infrastructure for confidential

resources.
• Flexibility: You can take advantage of additional public cloud resources when you need
them.
• Cost-effectiveness: With the ability to scale to the public cloud, you'll only pay for
additional computing capacity when needed.
• Ease: transitioning to the cloud does not have to be complex, as it can gradually
migrate; that is, transferring workloads in stages.
PROVIDER LINODE
linode has Linux virtual machines, global infrastructure and simple prices. No
surprise invoices, no closure, and the same price in every data center.
PROVIDER VULTR

It is a fairly new company, they started in April 2014 but they have already
obtained more than 100,000 clients, how? SSD and high speed data transfer.
PROVIDER DIGITAL OCEAN

Digital Ocean is an American provider

of private virtual servers,
headquartered in New York City.
The smallest size starts with 512 MB of
RAM with 1 CPU and 20 GB of solid
state drive (SSD) storage, costing just
$ 5 per month. While the largest
droplet size is 64GB of RAM with 20
CPUs and 640GB of SSD storage,
costing $ 640 per month.
CLOUD COMPUTING WITH AWS

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is the most widely adopted and comprehensive cloud
platform in the world, offering more than 175 comprehensive data center services globally.
Millions of customers, including the fastest growing startups, largest companies, and
leading government agencies, are using AWS to reduce costs, increase agility, and innovate
faster.
WHAT IS WINDOWS AZURE CLOUD

Is a cloud computing service created by Microsoft to build, test,

deploy, and manage applications and services through the use of its
data centers. It provides software as a service (SaaS), platform as a
service (PaaS), and infrastructure as a service (IaaS), and supports
many different programming languages, tools, and frameworks,
including specific Microsoft and third-party software and systems.
GCP GOOGLE CLOUD PLATFORM

It is a platform that has brought together all the web

development applications that Google was offering
separately.
It is used to create certain types of solutions through
technology stored in the cloud and allows for
example highlight the speed and scalability of your
infrastructure in search engine applications.
Google Cloud refers to the virtual space through
which you can perform a series of tasks that
previously required hardware or software and that
now use the Google cloud as the only way to access,
store and manage data.
VMWARE CLOUD ON AWS

VMware Cloud on AWS is a hybrid cloud service that runs the VMware software-defined data
center (SDDC) stack in the AWS public cloud. This partnership between VMware and AWS --
the leading server virtualization and public cloud providers, respectively -- enables the
combination of a wide variety VMware tools and interfaces with the flexibility and power of
the AWS cloud.
