Habitat:
 They live in all continents except Antarctica.
 They prefer wide open spaces.
 They can be found from tundra to desert.
Characteristics:

 A falcon is medium size raptor bird.


 Its black crown, nape and black wedge creates the look of a
helmet.
 Its long pointed wings are typically slate grey on the upper
and back side.
 It has blue eye rings.
 Feet ranging from green to yellow.
 Females weigh up to 1,350 gram.
 Males weigh up to 800 gram.
Feeding :

Falcon feed on small birds such as doves


and pigeons.
These small birds make 20 to 60 percent
of a falcon diet.
Falcon can see their prey up to 1 mile
away.
Falcon hunt during the day.
Nesting :
 The females lay 3 to 4 eggs.
 Both birds incubate them about 4 to 7 weeks.
 They typically keep other falcons 3 miles away from
their nest.
 Both parents hunt but females alone feeds chicks.
Distribution :
 They are distributed from Southeastern Iran.
 They are also found in Afghanistan in the west.
 They are also distributed across the Indian subcontinent
Myanmar in the east.
 They are found in areas of Miramshah, Banu, kohat etc
in Pakistan.
Reproduction:
 The male will put on an aerial courtship display to
attract a mate to a selection of nesting site.
 Hatching are covered flutty white down, replaced by
feathers in 21 to 35 days.
 They can fly when they go to 35 to 45 days.
 They begin to hunt around 60 to 80 days.
