Africa, named so by Romans, is a continent of great
variety and contrast in land, climate, languages, peoples, and cultures, but well into the 19th Century, it was known to the Western World as Darkest Africa. Africa has been started to explore and colonization by the Europeans in the 15th Century. KNOWING AFRICAN LITERATURE
