A BRIEF PARASITE SUMMARY

 The Kim family lives in a semi-basement and struggles

to keep food on the table. They take on odd jobs for
cash like folding pizza boxes, and they rely on
unprotected wi-fi networks

SCHOLAR’S STONE BY A FRIEND AND
GIVEN A RECOMMENDATION FOR A
TUTORING JOB WITH A WEALTHY
FAMILY
 Kim family  pretending to be strangers to each other. But then the artless little
kid points out that they all smell alike – and they smell of poor people. They take
the affluent home as their own while the Parks are away…
 Violence erupts and the prophetic scholar’s stone becomes an instrument of violence. Blood is
shed and deaths are cast at the birthday party of the Park family’s youngest child.

Elevation clearly equates to status; the Park’s have

a multi-level home at the top of the hill while the
Kim’s live below street level and the surprise 3rd
party lives deep underground. This vertical
comment on status is illustrated cleanly in this
alternate poster for the film.
