Beam element - geometric nonlinearity
Corotational formulation
• Local deformations on beam element are asumed as small
• Deformations of element are divided to large reigd deforamtions and small
local deformation
• Use quaternions for vector of rotations in nodes
• Corotated coordinte system of deformed beam element are defined as:
• x axis – vector through deformed node
• v vector – mean x rotation allong elemement

• z axis – perpendicular to the x axis and v vector


• y axis – perpendicular to the x axis and z axis
