WESTERN VISAYAS IS AN ADMINISTRATIVE REGION
IN THE PHILIPPINES, NUMERICALLY DESIGNATED AS
REGION VI. IT CONSISTS OF SIX PROVINCES AND
TWO HIGHLY URBANIZES CITY SUCH AS AKLAN,
ANTIQUE, CAPIZ, GUIMARAS, ILOILO AND NEGROS
OCCIDENTAL.
THE REGION IS HIGHLY DOMINATED BY THE NATIVE
SPEaker of four visayan languages: kinaray-a. hiligaynon,
aklanon and kapiznon.

1. Jose Mari Chan
He is the personification of Christmas cheer
— with his hopeful voice wrapping the
country in warmth every holiday season.
Whether through his Christmas hits or his
equally seminal pop songs, the goodwill
imbued by his music lives on.
2. Jed Madela

Jed was the first "Grand Champion Performer of the


World" from the Philippines, winning the coveted title in
2005! At that WCOPA event, he won all the major
industry awards in addition to capturing the top crown.
He was signed by Universal Records and to date has had
six double platinum albums with most becoming
classics. He has become a superstar Filipino recording
artist and songwriter, and is known as "The Singer's
Singer."
3. Nina Girado

Marifil Nina Barinos Girado-Enriquez, born on


November 1, 1980, known professionally as
Nina, is a Filipina singer, occasional songwriter,
record producer, TV and radio personality. She
made her recording debut in 2002 after signing
a recording contract with Warner Music
Philippines.

1.Alan K.

Alan Joveness Quilantang (born December


13, 1958 in Isabela, Negros Occidental),
popularly known by his stage name Allan
K., is a Filipino comedian, actor, singer and
TV host. He is one of the co-hosts of the
noontime variety show Eat Bulaga!.
2. Susan Roces
Jesusa Purificacion Levy Sonora (born July 28, 1941),
better known by her screen name Susan Roces, is a
Filipina actress and widow of Ronald Allan Kelley
Poe, better known as Fernando Poe, Jr. She was a
main cast member of John en Shirley, a comedy show
that aired on ABS-CBN until October 2007. She is
also known for the main role of Flora "Lola Kap" S.
Borja-de Leon from FPJ's Ang Probinsyano which
began airing in ABS-CBN from September 28, 2015
to present as of 2019.

1.Graciano Lopez Jaena

Graciano López Jaena (December 18, 1856 – January 20, 1896) was a
Filipino journalist, orator, revolutionary, and national hero who is well
known for his newspaper, La Solidaridad.
2. Magdalena Jalandoni
Magdalena Gonzaga Jalandoni (May 27, 1891 in Jaro, Iloilo –
September 14, 1978 in Jaro) was a Filipino feminist writer. She is now
remembered as one of the most prolific Filipino writers in the
Hiligaynon language. Hailing from Western Visayas, her works are
said to have left permanent and significant milestones in Philippine
literature.
3. Doreen Fernandez
Doreen Gamboa Fernandez was a noted Filipino teacher, writer,
cultural historian, and scholar who wrote extensively about Philippine
theater and Filipino cuisine.

3. Alex delos Santos

Alex C. Delos Santos born on September 24, 1967, in San Jose,


Antique is a Karay-a writer and theater artist based in San Jose,
Antique, the Philippines. He completed his Master of Education with
an academic excellence award from the University of the Philippines
in the Visayas. His research and writing interests are in culture and arts
and gay literature.
