INTRODUCTION
• The present era is the era of Information Technology. This branch of
science plays a vital and significant role in catering to education,
information, recreation & what not ? Information Technology is
instructive as well. It is an instrument of bringing us to a realm of
technology. It has entirely revolutionized the vista of modern world.
It has made the modern life easier, softer, better, happier and more
prosperous. It has given us the safest & the most concrete means of
instruction i.e. Computer, Internet, E-mail, E-commerce, Website
and a lifeline for most of our problems.
• I.T affords us of whatever we could not dream of. All thses devices
under I.T have drastically changed communication that
• Now links the world within the twinkling of an eye. It gives us the
extact approach. It provides calculations to a fault. Errorless
• result are procured in the quickest manner. Internet & computer are
now of paramount significance.
• We are doing the project on Hospital
Management System.
• This project “Hospital Management System –
SANJEEVNI HOSPITAL” is developed to
enhance the working of hospital System. The
workload of handling of large Ledger Books,
Registers, Patient Diary Register, Patient
Dispatch Register will now be reduced. All the
information required by the hospital staff will be
just a mouse click away.
FUNCTIONALITY OF MY
PROJECT
• This project has been developed to ease
up the various tasks that take place while
maintaining the hospital record like the list
of all doctors, list of all patients, no. rooms
occupied, no. of beds occupied or vacant
in each room etc.
• Each room comprises of two beds, and
they are allotted according to the
availability. If both of them are already
occupied the next room has to be allotted.
Each patient’s record is stored which
includes his name, address, and the
disease and accordingly doctor is
assigned to the patient .
• If the patient gets discharged, the records are
automatically updated like the status of the bed
changes from ‘not available’ to ‘available’. We
can edit the records accordinly to the need like
modification of patient’s record, changing the
doctor assigned, deleting a doctor’s record etc.
• All in all, we have tried to make the project’s
working as simple and user-friendly as possible.
EXISTING SYSTEM
• Currently, hospital system is maintained through manual
system means there is manual entry for each of the
record which is maintained in the hospital. If a user want
to add new room in the list he has to see the occupancy
status us of that room and then add the room. If a patient
wants an admission in the hospital he has to wait in long
queue as manually card are provided to the patient
which takes along time. At the time of discharge again
same thing happens. Even if the hospital authority wants
to see the various status like room status or patient list or
patient’s record they perform manual search for the data
which is difficult job, so in order to solve these problems
we introduce the computerized system of hospital

OBJECTIVE / PROPOSED
SYSTEM
The objective of my project is to automate all the
working of this hospital. This would enhance the
working of the hospital in a way that all required
information would be a mouse click away.
• Creating a system to automate the task of
managing all the tasks conducted by the
management of the hospital.
• This software has the following things which will
be incorporated in the software .
LIMITATION OF THE PROJECT

This project computerized the exiting manual system but


there are certain points which are not considered while
developing the current project.
These limitations are :
• Non generation of reports on weekly and monthly basis.
• Maintaining payroll in the system like generating bills etc.
which itself is a big part of the project.
• Showing reports in graph formats.
These are the points which I am not considering as we
have to develop the project according to our requirement
and level .
FUTURE APPLICATIONS OF THE
PROJECT
In this project we have tried to cover all the related topics
which we can computerize in the hospital but there is still
future scope of the system, means it can involve more
things like we can generate the reports showing graph
which can clearly state the status of the reports. And
also we can generate annual reports . we can also add
inventory system into this so that payment can be
handled though computer. But we have done according
to our requirements and level .

It can also be extended for the purpose of online billing of


the customers.
