Biographical Information

• James Earl Carter Jr, was born on October 1, 1924.


• Carter is an American politician, philanthropist, and former farmer
who served as the 39th President of the United States from 1977
to 1981.
• Member of the Democratic Party, previously served as a member
of Georgia.
Achievements

• Carter established a national energy policy that included


conservation, price control, and new technology.
• In foreign affairs, Carter pursued the Camp David Accords, the
Panama Canal Treaties, the second round of Strategic Arms
Limitation Talks, and the return of the Panama Canal Zone to
Panama.
How he has impacted someone or something

• Carter is the second-oldest living former American president,


serving from 1977-1981.
• He help the U.S. Department of Energy, Alaska National Interest
Lands Conservation Act, The Department of Education, The Social
Security and many other things that he help to impact the world.
Why you have admired her ?

• I have sincerely admired Carter a lot because he changed and gave


many things that we needed, and knowing that he would have to
endure the ravages of cancer was heartbreaking. For me, he is an
example and a hero without a cape.
Legacy

• In 1982, Carter established the Carter Center to promote and


expand human rights.
• Carter has traveled extensively to conduct peace negotiations,
monitor elections, and advance disease prevention and eradication
in developing nations.
• Carter is considered a key figure in the Habitat for Humanity
charity.
Awards and recognitions

• Among the honors Carter has received are the Presidential Medal
of Freedom in 1999 and the Nobel Peace Prize in 2002.
Any Other Aspect

• On September 17, 1978, President Jimmy Carter had an agreement


between Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin and Egyptian
President Anwar Sadat that called for Israel’s gradual withdrawal
from the Sinai Peninsula and the establishment of diplomatic
relations between the two countries.
