 When I tell people that I know how to get 10% monthly returns in the stock
market, they usually think I am joking. Until I show them how I do it.

 I get 10% monthly by selling options. Options are a decaying asset. That
means that they lose value every day that goes by. By selling the right options,
my trades have a very high probability of success: between 70 and 90%.

 It’s simple math and statistics. Here’s an example.

 Let’s say the stock of XYZ company is priced at Rs.50. XYZ is a large company
and the price does not fluctuate too wildly. According to statistics, there is a
68% chance that the price of XYZ will be less than one standard deviation
away from 50. If we do the math on XYZ, we find that 1 Standard Deviation is
5 points for the next 30 days. So if we sell a Call option at 55 and a Put option
at 45, we have a 68% chance of making money on both options.
 If you want a higher percent probability of success go out even further. If you
go out 2 standard deviations (sell the 60 Call and the 40 Put), you have over a
90% chance of being successful.
 You wouldn’t believe me if I told you how much money people are
making in the markets by just selling options. Generating a 5-10%
monthly return is not only possible, it is being done every month by
everyday people. Many even do it part time.

 Take the iron condor trade for example. This trade has an 80%
probability of success and can generate anywhere from 5-15% return in
30 days. The Calendar trade can do even better. Possible returns are
over 100% in 2-3 weeks, but 25-30% is more likely. While these trades
may sound funny, the income they generate is anything but.Of course,
there is risk involved. That is why you need to pick the right options
to sell and you need to know what to do if the trade goes against you.
Even with a 70% probability, that still means that 3 trades out of 10
will move against you.

 The purpose of this article was simply to point out that there are ways
to earn above average returns. Even for little guys like us.
