OPENING SONG
OPENING PRAYER

Loving heavenly Father, We come to

you this hour asking for your
blessing and help as we are gathered
together. We pray for guidance in
the matters at hand and ask that you
would clearly show us how to
conduct our work with a spirit of joy
BIBLE VERSE
One of the Pharisees asked Jesus to share his meal, so He went to the
Pharisee's home and as usual reclined on the sofa to eat. And it happened
that a woman of this town, who was known as a sinner, heard that He was
in the Pharisee's house. She brought a precious jar of perfume and stood
behind him at his feet, weeping. She wet his feet with tears, she dried
them with her hair and kissed his feet and poured the perfume on them.
The Pharisee who had invited Jesus was watching and thought, If this
man were a prophet, he would know what sort of person is touching him;
isn't this woman a sinner?. Then Jesus spoke to the Pharisee and said,
Simon, I have something to ask you. He answered, Speak, master». And
Jesus said, Two people were in debt to the same creditor. One owed him
five hundred silver coins, and the other fifty. As they were unable to pay
him back, he graciously canceled the debts of both. Now, which of them
will love him more?». Simon answered, The one, I suppose, who was
forgiven more». And Jesus said, You are right. And turning toward the

BIBLE REFLECTION

 UNDERLYING MOTIVE No matter what we say or do, we cannot please everyone or make
everyone happy. Some will agree with what we say and some will not. Some are happy with our
decisions and some will not be. Instead of trying to make everyone happy, we must understand the
motives and the reasons for their unhappiness. Love is the ultimate principle in all we do. When
love is not what is driving us, we will find all kinds of excuses to reject the message of God. When
we commit ourselves to the love of God and love of men, we will not be argumentative, arrogant,
envious and resentful. St Paul wrote, “Love is always patient and kind; it is never jealous; love is
never boastful or conceited; it is never rude or selfish; it does not take offence, and is not resentful.
Love takes no pleasure in other people's sins but delights in the truth; it is always ready to excuse,
to trust, to hope, and to endure whatever comes.” When there is love in our hearts, we are ever
ready to trust, to excuse and humble ourselves to serve and cooperate with our loved ones. This was
the way of our Lord. It is one of adjustment, accommodation and moderation. A good leader must
know when to adapt so that he can reach out to those marginalized by religion and society. Hence,
we should continue to purify our motives in serving the Lord and His people. The truth is that we
are often blinded by a lack of self-awareness due to our pride, selfishness and insecurity. We will
have to purify our motives and search ourselves in whatever we do until we arrive and see God face
to face.
PRAYERS
 God's healing hand To our brothers and sisters who have contracted and are suffering due to the Coronavirus
Disease, we pray that God’s healing hand may rest upon you. To medical doctors, nurses and the supporting staff
who are in the frontline of the fight against COVID-19, may the Good Lord sustain you and inspire you to render
your life-saving services with due care, love and compassion. To all those who have lost their loved ones due to the
Coronavirus outbreak, we convey our deepest sympathies. We pray that their souls, through God’s mercy, may rest
in eternal peace. We pray that God may grant all bereaved families his consolation and strengthen their faith and
hope in Jesus Christ, the Risen Lord. Amen.
 Prayer adapted from the 2020 Easter Message of the Catholic Bishops of Malawi, Zambia and Zimbabwe At this
time Dear Lord, At this time of pandemic, Let us foster respect and solidarity with others, especially those who are
weak or poor. Let us remain calm and ignore unsubstantiated rumours. Let us take advantage of living together as a
family. Let us attend to moments of prayer. Let us cultivate responsibility, patience and hope. Amen.
 Lord, I reach out to you for your guidance. Please show me which way to turn. Calm my anxious
thoughts, come speak into my mind. Strengthen me as I falter and feel weary. May I feel strength
rising up within my heart. Bring clarity into my visions and dreams. I trust that you are with me,
no matter where I go, Or what I decide to do. You journey with me always , Amen.

who trespass against us; and lead us
CLOSING PRAYER

Heavenly Father, As we come to the end

of our time together we thank you for
what has been accomplished here today.
May the matters discussed serve as a
catalyst to move us forward and cause us
to advance and see growth in all areas of
our lives.
EJACULATORY PRAYERS

 It would be well if every breath could be a loving sigh, and every

moment be filled with the thought of God. If this can not be, form a
habit of recollecting yourself from time to time; the more frequently the
better. Let the striking of the hour be a signal for recalling the presence
of God. Accustom yourself to the easy and frequent use of ejaculatory
prayers. We need but to love in order to pray and to sigh for God. These
outpourings of the heart proceed from the Holy Spirit; they are a
language of love readily understood by this God of love. We naturally
think of what we love; hence we can not say we love God if we rarely or
never think of Him. "Aspire to God," says St. Francis of Sales, "with
short but frequent outpourings of the heart. "As those who are
influenced by human and natural love have their minds and hearts
constantly fixed on the objects of their affections; as they speak often in
their praise, and when absent lose no opportunity of expressing by
