Introduction
 What is Textile Engineering?
 Textile manufacturing is a major industry.
 It is based on the conversion of fibre into yarn, yarn into fabric.
 These are then dyed or printed, fabricated into clothes.
 Different types of fibres are used to produce yarn.
 Cotton remains the most important natural fibre, so is treated in depth.
 There are many variable processes available at the spinning and fabric-forming stages coupled with
the complexities of the finishing and colouration processes to the production of a wide range of
products.

 What do Textile Engineers do?

 Design and develop the processes, equipments and procedures that create all fibers, yarns and
fabrics.
 Work in plant and design engineering, porcess engineering.
 Ensure production control, supervion and product development.
 Ensure technical sales and services, quality control, research and developement, and corporate
management.

Introduction: The Evolution of Mobile Wireless Technolog
 1G technology made large scale mobile wireless communication possible.
 Digital communication has replaced analog technology in 2G which
significantly improved wireless communication.
 Voice communication was main focus in 3G technology, and converged
networks for both voice and data communication is emerging.
 Fourth Generation (4G) systems are being deployed with the aim Quality of
Service (QoS), efficiency and performance. Mobile wireless technology have
reached to 4G or 5G of Technology.
 Currently 5G term is not officially used. In 5G researches are being made on
development of WWWW, Dynamic Adhoc Wireless networks(DAWN) etc.

Introduction
 Industry 4.0: How textile firms are using tech to become smart, sustainable. Textile industry is waking up to the
possibilities of using Industry 4.0 concepts.
 A dress recently launced which was a perfect fusion of a Disney princess and a Barbie doll in an all-pink gown. 160
hours of cutting-edge technology such as 3D printing and stereolithography had gone into making the dress.
Stereolithography is the process of 3D printing where a structure is constructed layer by layer, using a plastic-like
liquid and so on.
 4 innovations in textiles set to revolutionise business.
 1. Improving the shopping experience.
• One of the hardest parts of shopping for clothing is the challenge of trying to keep up with the latest
styles and trends – and some of the more recent applications of textile-tech are geared toward solving this
problem.
 2. Changing the way medical devices are perceived.
• Another area of focus for textile-tech research has been the evolution of old-school medical devices and
creating innovative ways to make them ‘trendier’.
 3. Improving street safety
• Clothing has always been a form of protection for those who wear it and textile-tech researchers have
been exploring ways to enhance this ability.
 4. Looking after our planet
• Textile has on the environment by implementing the solutions that make textile manufacturing more
environmentally friendly.
