ABOUT OF COOLING TOWER

 Cooling Tower is an Evaporative heat exchanger
in which two fluid (Air & Water) are brought into
direct contact to effect transfer of heat from the
water to the air.
 Heat is rejected primarily through the
evaporation of a small percentage of the
circulating water-about 1% of the circulating
flow rate for ever 10 degree Fahrenheit of
temperature drop (a.k.a. cooling range).
 Motor
 Fan
 Eliminator
 Nozzle
 Bleed Valve
 Flood Valve
 PVC Filling
 Water Sump
 Sprinkler
 Mesh
 A cooling tower function as a heat
exchanger where water and air are
placed in contact with each other to
reduce temperature of the water.
 It introduces the air to water and
some of it evaporates.
 It expose the heated water to air so
that it become cool.
 Cooling tower is used to cool relatively hot water.
 If the temperature of the inlet air decreased
performance of cooling tower will better and if
the air flow rate is increased, the height of
cooling tower can decrease.
