Introduction

 What is Marriage?
Basically two people tying the knot to form a
legal relation to be together.
 It has been seen that many students get

married during their study period.

 Focus of my Research?

I have actually worked on the students of North

South University from business School who got
married during their study and that effected
their study and put impact over their CGPA.
Research Questions

 What are the effects of marriage during

study?
 How long does the effect stay?
 To what extent does it effect?
 What are the challenges that are faced by the

student who gets married during study?

 What are the factors that lead to the

challenges they face?

 How much important is it to get support from

the partner?
Hypothesis

From my research I expect to find out that

because of getting married during studies
students from business school of North South
University is facing difficulty in managing time
for study so their CGPA is falling. As they get
involved in a new relationship, a new
responsibility they get diverted start giving less
concentration on their studies and as a result
their result is affected negatively.
Research Methodology

I have done my research by collecting data

from both primary and secondary sources.

For my primary research, I have conducted a

survey of a representative sampling of the
business school students of North South
University and interviewed them who actually
have experienced a change in CGPA after
getting married.
Primary Data Analysis
What was you CGPA before getting married?
28.7% of the respondents had a
CGPA around 3.3 to 3.4.
 17.9% of the respondents had a
CGPA above 3.4.
60.8% had a CGPA above 3.
To see whether it matches my
hypothesis or not it has to be
compared with after marriage
CGPA which is done in the
next slide.
What is your CGPA after Marriage?
32.1% of the respondents had
a CGPA around 2.9-3.
14.3% had a CGPA around
2.5-2.7.
In the previous data
it showed only 7.1%
of respondents had
a CGPA around 2.5-2.7.
Only 39.3% of the
Respondents have
CGPA above 3.
It matches my hypothesis.
Do you give less time for study now?
42.9% of the respondents
said that they study
for the same
amount of time
they used to
before marriage.
39.3% of the respondents
said that they spend less
time on study.
So it does not fully match my
Hypothesis.
How is your study effected?

42.9% of the respondents

said there is no effect.
39.3% of the
respondents said
they have other
Responsibilities.
A very minor portion
said that their partner
does not support them
which is only 10.7%.
It does not match my
hypothesis fully.
To what extent is your study effected? (rate on a scale 1 to 5) [1=highly
affected, 5= least]

32.1% of the respondents rated 5 which says it was least effected.

25% was at a neutral stage where it says it was not much
effected.
Only 17.9% rated 2 which says it effected to some extent.
My hypothesis is
proven wrong.
What is you opinion about getting married
during study? (write few words)
It's very hard to maintain everything (2)
I think it is very much important to complete studies first.

Getting married during studies causes disruption in both

educational and personal life.
Nothing
You should not get married during study things get difficult
After marriage it is very difficult to manage enough time for

studies.
It's ok to get married during study and live happily with partner
marriage doesn't effect those who really want to study... its just

a matter of priority
It mainly depends on the support from one's spouse and in-

laws family plus the student's determination

Continues..
Should take a break
This is very difficult for a women for balancing student Life & married

life together specially when a student belongs to higher CGPA & want
to reach her desired vision..
You must have a very supportive husband.
Should highly avoid as its disturbing.
It depends on me as well as my partner. My marriage didn’t effect my

studies.
Depends on the support of your partner
I really do not support it, in most of the cases and it's hard to

maintain the family and study life equally.

Basically it is qualitative question where there is mixture of opinion
which can both support my hypothesis and go against my hypothesis
so it cannot be proven accurately.
Findings
So from my findings it can be seen that some students are
experiencing a fall in their CGPA after getting married but most
of them are not blaming marriage. Most of them said that there
is almost no effect or little effect. They agree that it is bit
difficult to manage both at a time.
However, my hypothesis has been proven wrong.
Conclusion
From most of the responses it can be
concluded that they think their study and
result is not much affected negatively.
Self determination and support is all a person
need after getting married to keep there
studies unaffected.
Some of my respondents were newly married
(which is 6 months to 1 year) so may be that
was a reason they could not realize how much
it effected their CGPA.
