SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT

Location and Political Subdivision
 
The Municipality of Vinzons lies along the Pacific Ocean at the eastern
portion of Camarines Norte, one of the six provinces of the Bicol
Region. It is approximately nine (9) kilometers away from the capital
town of Daet, 200 kilometers away from the regional center Legaspi
City, and more or less 355 kilometers south of Manila. It is bounded on
the east by the Pacific Ocean, on the south to southwest by the town of
Talisay, Camarines Norte, on the north to northwest by Paracale, this
province and on the north to northeast by the Pacific Ocean and on the
west by the Municipality of Labo. It is composed of nineteen (19)
Barangays sixteen of which are in the mainland while three form part
of the Calaguas Group of Island.

Land Area
Vinzons has a total land area of 14,143 hectares, approximately 4.12%
of the total land area of Camarines Norte.

How can the Municipality of Vinzons address this?

 Strategies:
 The Municipality of Vinzons shall implement the
Mandatory Waste Segregation in compliance to RA
9003 "No Segregation No Collection" is the policy
using the four sets of waste bins for Biodegradable,
Recyclable, Residual and Special Waste with proper
label. Waste receptacles should be place in strategic
point within the waste source compound.
Segregated waste shall be collected on a daily basis
for Urban Barangays and twice a week for Rural
Barangays.
Information and Education Campaign.
The LGU shall educate people
from Municipal Government down
to barangay level, conduct
information drive at schools and
community meetings and provide
hand-outs and solid waste
campaign materials.
