Our lesson for today talks about, how does Korea/Korean’s responded to
the challenges of modernity.

Read the article entitled Beliefs, Social Structures, and Practices.


This will help you appreciate and understand better the Korean
psyche and temperament that is reflected in their rich literary
pieces. Read the short story.

The following pictures will show you of


Korea/Koreans then and now. See how
they’ve responded to the challenges of
modernity.

The pictures show how Korea/Koreans changed as time
goes by. They were colonized by Japan for 35 years and it
was ended after World War II. Korea then were led by
Choson Dynasty or Yi Dynasty that lasted for
approximately five centuries. The Choson Dynasty was
founded by Yi Seong-gye in July.

Here in our country, Philippines. We also have our own


struggles just to reach the freedom that we have today.
In your Araling Panlipunan subject, when do you think,
we can say, we really get the democracy that we are
experiencing today? Do we also have our own beliefs
and traditions?
 
Two pictures will be shown and students will be asked to see how
does Korea improved as time goes by.
 
There will be 3 stations. Each station will have its corresponding
tasks. The students will be grouped according to their interest.
 
The Spectators:

TASK: Write a mini-dialogue that you expect to experience in Korea.

TASK: Create a slogan on how Koreans respond to the challenges of


modernity.

TASK: Create a document that presents your idea on Korea/Koreans
