Planning work
 work which has gone through s formal planning process to identify labour , materials ,
tools and safety requirements
Procedural work
 work which does not end but ends up in the system
Insecurity work
FIVE MAIN EMPLOYMENT TYPES

• Permanent or fixed-term employees


• Casual employees
• Apprentices or trainees – employees
• Employment agency staff – also labour hire
• Contractors and sub-contractors – hired staff

• (the stability of the economy rests on the ability to maintain a low unemployment rate and
provide a safe, secure workplace…)
DOMESTIC WORK

• Paid domestic work is an important source of employment


• The people provide essential housekeeping services and look after the needs of children
and the elderly , sick or invalid members of other peoples households
• 80-90% of the workers are women , out of the estimate of 53 million workers across the
world
• Many of these workers are unregistered , hidden and non-enumerated by labour force
surveys and censuses
• These workers are underpaid and overworked , poorly regulated and protected by labour
legislation
