 5 topics on the nature, importance and methodology of science

 6 topics on the impact of science on society

 Reflective Journal on 5 Module 1 topics


 Written immediately after each lecture
 Typed directly into topic’s eLearning text window

 Purpose of course: October 4 (400 words max.; 4%)
 Methodology 1: October 11 (400 words max; 4%)
 Methodology 2: October 18 (400 words max; 4%)
 Progress: October 25 (400 words max; 4%)
 Key Concepts: November 1 (400 words max; 4%)
MCQs 20%

 Covers Module 1
 Opens 12 am October 30 and closes 11:59 pm November 2
 50 questions
 To be completed in 70 minutes
 Cannot return to question
 Best score of 2 attempts
 Given score soon after each attempt
Online discussion forum 20%

 Week of November 9 until 11:59 pm on November 27


 Two separate topics (10% each)
 Comment (250 words; 5%) and then respond (100 words; 5%)
to the comment of at least one other student
 Must submit a comment first before you are able to view other
comments
Group Presentations 10%

 Week of November 9 until week of November 23


 Groups of 5 or less.
 10 minutes plus 5 minute Q & A
 Topic given to your group or selected by the group depending
on your tutor.
 Be creative but the format has to be approved by your tutor
(eg: powerpoint, video, dramatization).
Individual Research Paper 30%

 Deadline: 11:59 pm, December 7


 2,500 – 3,000 words
 Topic given to you or selected by you
depending on your tutor.
