 Parallels and meridians are imaginary lines that cross the Earth
surface and form a grid. That grid allows us to locate any point on
the Earth.

 Maps distort the Earth´s surface because they are
representations of a three dimensional object in a flat
surface.

We use a technique called map projection to make maps.
