approval engineer from Britain’s vehicle certification authority”
side impact crash.

VIRALL .. 8

Large ultimate tensile strain

Use as thin laminates of 0.3 mm to

0.4mm over aluminum sheets do
not affect the stability of the car

Lower in price and density than

its corresponding aluminum
alloy

Does NANO have a way with
nature? Complies with Bharat Stage-
III & can also meet Euro IV
emission standards
Less steel, less rubber, less
plastic and has high fuel
efficiency, emits less CO2 and
also meets safety requirements
Emits lesser green house
gases as compared to normal
two wheelers
Use of improved catalytic
converters further reduces the
carbon emissions

10
CATALYTIC CONVERTERS:

The Nano's catalytic converter

appears to reduce most pollutants
by about 80 percent—not as much
as the 99 percent Western models
do, but still a big reduction.

Proper maintenance of catalytic

converter can reduce the emission
to a great extent.

11
EXPECTED VARIANTS:
Diesel

Compressed-air engine

Electric drivetrain or electric-version

Hybrid

12
ROAD CONGESTION

13
Solar Roadways:
 “A series of structurally-
engineered solar panels that
are driven upon.”

 At first glance that might

look like an absurdly
expensive option until actual
cost of laying down new
roads is considered and how
many damaged or worn
surfaces undergo repair
every year.”
The panel consists of three layers; the base
contains power and data lines and is overlaid
by the electronics strata that contains Solar
 Reason in bringing in the
cells, LEDs and super-capacitors which would Solar Road PanelsTM ?
produce and store electricity.

The NANO is SAFE, COMFORTABLE and
AFFORDABLE and besides also is an eco friendly
venture, not trying to break the stability of the society.
Ratan Tata has called the Nano the ‘peoples cars’ and
even the official website bears that name! No doubt its
the World’s cheapest car. Above all, the car provided all
this for a price of just INR 1 Lakh. This was roughly half
the price of the cheapest cars available in the global
market, for example, China’s QQ3Y Chery and India’s
Maruti 800, which were both priced at about INR 2.6
Lakh.
